3D mammography developer XCounter of Danderyd, Sweden, has received regulatory approvals to carry out a larger second patient study on its XC Mammo 3-T system.
The study will be conducted at the mammography departments of Danderyd University Hospital and Karolinska University Hospital in Stockholm, according to XCounter. Expected to begin in the first quarter of 2007, the study will evaluate the possible clinical benefits of using 3D images compared with conventional film screen for mammography, XCounter said.
