(Booth 2509) Mammography and x-ray firm Internazionale Medico Scientifica (IMS) of Bologna, Italy, will display the work-in-progress Giotto Low Dose, a screening and clinical mammography system.
Giotto Low Dose features a circular tilting gantry that can be used with both face-to-face and conventional positioning: It is capable of tilting 30° toward the patient and up to 180° away from the patient. This feature allows for imaging of wheelchair-bound patients and quick conversion from mammography to prone stereotactic biopsy, the company said.
Giotto Low Dose will be available for digital mammography in 2008; it is available now for analog mammography and digital stereotactic biopsy.
