Rate your favorite products; make money from mammography?

Dear AuntMinnie Member,

In today's Internet age, most savvy consumers wouldn't make a major purchase without first consulting product ratings available on any of a number of Web sites, from Amazon to Yelp. So why should medical imaging be any different?

It shouldn't, and that's why we're launching a new ratings and reviews feature in our Buyer's Guide online directory of imaging products. Beginning this week, you can use our five-star scale to rate products you use -- and also comment on what you like and don't like.

You can post reviews under your AuntMinnie screen name, so you won't be telling the world what you have installed at your site. But please note that the feature is open only to actual product users, and submissions will be vetted to ensure that they're authentic.

To get started, head to the Buyer's Guide by clicking here, and navigate to the product you want through our list of modality-by-modality categories. You'll find the ratings and reviews area in the box at right.

Making money from mammography?

It's no secret that mammography is one of the least popular imaging modalities, due in large part to its combination of low reimbursement and high malpractice risk. But the discipline also has a little-known secret -- you can make good money in mammography if you do it right, according to an article by staff writer Kate Madden Yee in our Women's Imaging Digital Community.

The key to achieving breast imaging financial success is digital technology. Full-field digital mammography enables workflow efficiencies not possible with analog, and some more efficient facilities are finding they can achieve revenue streams comparable to those of their MRI service (your results may vary, of course).

Find out how to do it by clicking here, or visit the community at women.auntminnie.com.
