Growth in its Breast Health, Gyn Surgical, and Skeletal Health units contributed to a 4.9% increase in fiscal second-quarter revenues for women's healthcare vendor Hologic.
For the period (end-March 26), the firm had revenues of $438.7 million, compared with $418.1 million in the second quarter of fiscal 2010. Hologic had net income of $82.4 million, up from $20.6 million in net income a year ago.
The company said it saw revenue growth of 9% in its Breast Health segment, driven by a 23% increase in service revenue. Meanwhile, higher bone densitometry sales helped grow Skeletal Health revenues by 7%.
