Computer-aided detection (CAD) developer VuCOMP has appointed a new chief operating officer (COO) and director of U.S. sales.
Barry Burgdorf will become the new COO, and Kathleen Kelly has been promoted to director of U.S. sales.
Burgdorf is a former vice chancellor and general counsel for the University of Texas as well as general counsel for Samsung Austin Semiconductor; he now becomes VuCOMP's first COO. He will manage the company's day-to-day business operations and has experience in capital financing, regulation and compliance, joint ventures, and general corporate governance.
Kelly began with VuCOMP as a regional sales manager and has more than 20 years of experience in sales with companies such as GE Healthcare, Aurora Imaging Technology, and Summit Medical Technologies. She spent more than 10 years in women's imaging with the launch, commercialization, and sales of Aurora's dedicated breast MRI scanner. She will be responsible for account management, sales strategies, planning, and managing the company's national sales force, VuCOMP said.
