Computer-aided detection (CAD) developer Parascript's AccuDetect 7.0 software was approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
AccuDetect uses multiple independent cancer detection algorithms and a patented voting methodology to combine its findings. The FDA approval pertains to use of the software for mammography systems manufactured by GE Healthcare, Philips Healthcare, Hologic, Fujifilm, Carestream, IMS, and Planmed.
The system has also received the CE Mark and is compatible with digital radiography (DR) and computed radiography (CR) mammography systems from Agfa Healthcare, Allengers Medical Systems, and Siemens Healthcare.
