Ill. governor signs DBT coverage bill

Gov. Bruce Rauner of Illinois has signed legislation that requires insurers and Medicaid to cover digital breast tomography (DBT), or 3D mammography, in the state.

The bill, SB 466, is a bipartisan effort that was sponsored by Rep. Michael McAuliffe (R-Chicago). It is effective immediately.
