GE Healthcare and group purchasing organization Premier have agreed to develop a breast cancer center model that will offer women same-day diagnosis.
The model will be similar to that used by the One-Stop Clinic at the Gustave Roussy Institute in Paris, GE said. Like this model, GE and Premier's clinic will provide women with coordinated care from the initial appointment through diagnosis and a treatment plan, all on the same day.
The companies have established an advisory board to provide guidance on how best to put the model into place in the U.S. market, GE said.
