Siemens signs Brigham and Women's deal

Siemens Healthcare said that its syngo.via advanced visualization software will be exclusively used by researchers at the National Center for Image Guided Therapy (NCIGT) at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston.

The research group, which is working to advance image-guided interventional techniques, will install syngo.via across all of its radiology workstations, according to the vendor.

The NCIGT physicians are also planning to develop new image-guided therapeutic approaches and to improve upon current interventional procedures, including image-guided therapy in open brain surgery, radiation treatment of prostate cancer and gynecological tumors, breast-conserving therapy, MRI-guided cryoablation, treatment of atrial and ventricular fibrillation, and brain tumor laser ablation, Siemens said.
