Sectra to show new version of viz table

PACS developer Sectra will demonstrate a redesigned version of its Visualization Table, slated for introduction at the 2011 RSNA conference.

With the help of updated image reconstruction algorithms, the Sectra Visualization Table differentiates soft tissue from bone and bone fragments for rapid bone subtraction, and can be controlled by touching the screen. Radiologists and orthopedic surgeons can gain an overview of the joints and perform image segmentation, again by executing commands with fingertip interactions on the large, medical touchscreen display.

With the new version, special emphasis was placed on improving the intuitive feel and ease of operation of the table’s segmentation software, the vendor noted.

The new configuration, powered by a Sectra PACS workstation, facilitates interactive collaboration among physicians as they view, manipulate, and navigate through real-size 3D CT and MRI image volumes. Patented visualization techniques allow fast display of extremely large datasets, including high-resolution whole-body CT and MRI scans.
