AG Mednet licenses software from Columbia

Imaging exchange network AG Mednet has licensed image analysis technology from Columbia University Medical Center's Computational Image Analysis Laboratory.

Designed to reduce clinical trial protocol amendments and unnecessary procedures and costs, the technology aims to verify certain clinical study data prior to submission, according to the company.

The new quality control modules will check for anatomical completeness of the chest, abdomen, and pelvis as well as the presence or absence of contrast in CT scans at investigator sites prior to data submission, AG Mednet said. This determines whether image sets are protocol-compliant before reaching the core lab or sponsor for analysis.

The technology was developed at Columbia by Dr. Lawrence Schwartz, Dr. Binsheng Zhao, and Yongqiang Tan, PhD.
