Advanced visualization software developer Vital Images has received clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for 3D viewing through its universal viewer, VitreaView. The firm also released tablet-viewing capabilities for VitreaView.
VitreaView is used as a communication tool for DICOM and non-DICOM medical images through a standardized viewer, giving clinicians access to these images through a variety of systems, including electronic medical records, electronic health records, or health information exchanges, according to Vital Images.
