Taylor steps down as TeraRecon CEO

Robert Taylor, PhD, president and CEO of advanced visualization software developer TeraRecon, has left the company.

Taylor left TeraRecon in June, and his duties have been taken over in the interim by chief financial officer (CFO) Lakshmi Lakshminarayan as the company looks for a new CEO. Taylor joined TeraRecon in 2001 as executive vice president after serving as CEO of AccuImage Diagnostics, and he was appointed CEO of TeraRecon in 2009.

Lakshminarayan said that Taylor's departure comes as TeraRecon looks for new ways to grow the company. While its position in the advanced visualization market segment is mature, the company is looking at expanding into new areas of healthcare IT to grow the business.

Lakshminarayan has been TeraRecon's CFO since 2005, when he joined the firm after serving as an executive at Siemens Healthcare.
