VirtualScopics appoints board chair, plans stock split

Computerized image analysis developer VirtualScopics has named current board member Mostafa Analoui, PhD, as its new chairman and is planning a reverse stock split.

A VirtualScopics board member for five years, Analoui is currently head of the Livingston Group's healthcare and life sciences division.

In other news, VirtualScopics said it received authorization from stockholders at its August 13 annual meeting to effectuate a reverse stock split, aimed at helping the firm regain compliance with the minimum $1 bid price per-share requirement for listing on Nasdaq. The split will occur in the near future, the company said.
