Qmetrics Technologies has received 510(k) clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for its Kuvia3D medical imaging software.
The software is used to postprocess MRI scans and generate 3D images of anatomy. It can automatically segment fat-suppressed knee MRI scans and create 3D color maps of cartilage thickness, according to the firm.
Kuvia3D's renderings can be used by orthopedic surgeons in presurgical planning and during patient consultations, the company said.
