3D printing technology firm Stratasys is expanding its line of point-of-care printers for anatomical replicas and offering hands-on demos of new models at RSNA 2018 in Chicago.
The company's suite of printers and materials incorporate the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-approved Mimics inPrint software by its collaborator, 3D printing firm Materialise.
Stratasys will be showcasing three new models at RSNA 2018.
The J735 and J750 3D printers use multiple textures and colors, while combining hard and soft materials to mimic human tissue, according to the company. This produces realistic representations of any bone, tissue, or organ, Stratasys said.
The Objet30 Prime 3D printer is a desktop platform that provides an entry point to hospitals seeking a point-of-care printer that is cost-effective, without sacrificing resolution or accuracy. It may be used to create a range of models, including orthopedic and cardiac anatomy, and may be used for surgical planning and training, according to the company.
