3D printing software developer Materialise has agreed to acquire a 75% stake in Engimplan, a manufacturer of orthopedic and craniomaxillofacial implants and instruments based in Brazil.
The agreement provides Materialise with access to Engimplan's production facility and its collection of 3D-printed implants, as well as Engimplan's expertise and existing partner and distribution network in the country. This deal will allow Materialise to extend its 3D printing services to the Brazilian market and expand its global presence in the medical industry, Materialise said.
The companies expect to close the transaction in early August.
