Radiology informatics firm Guardian Technologies International has signed a teaming and joint development agreement with scientific organization Aurum Institute for Health Research of Johannesburg, South Africa.
The deal calls for the creation and development of an automated image analysis system for the early identification and quantification of tuberculosis, malaria, and pneumoconiosis, according to the Herndon, VA-based firm.
The system will be targeted for deployment in developing nations, Guardian said. Aurum will provide access to expertise and clinical case studies for targeted development of Guardian's Signature Mapping technology.
