Medic Vision gets FDA nod

Imaging software developer Medic Vision has received U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) 510(k) clearance for its SafeCT dose reduction software.

SafeCT is designed to enable existing CT scanners to perform low-dose imaging, offering a 50% dose reduction without compromising image quality and diagnostic information, according to the Haifa, Israel-based vendor. Medic Vision debuted SafeCT at the 2010 RSNA meeting in Chicago.
