ImageGuide, a developer of image-guided robotic-assisted surgery tools, will be opening a new headquarters and engineering center in Baltimore. The company is commercializing patented technology licensed from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and the National Science Foundation-funded Engineering Research Center for Computer-Integrated Surgical Systems and Technology.
ImageGuide’s initial efforts will focus on needle-based procedures such as soft-tissue biopsies, radiofrequency ablation, and spinal pain management. The developer is also working with a strategic partner, GE Medical Systems of Waukesha, WI, to integrate its technology into CT scanners and mobile C-arms.
