Image analysis firm Parascript has introduced AccuDetect, a computer-aided detection (CAD) package for film-based or digital mammography exams.
AccuDetect features a set of CAD algorithms designed to provide low false-positive rates, according to the Boulder, CO-based firm. Parascript said it anticipates that existing false-positive rates can be reduced by 60% to 80% using AccuDetect algorithms.
AccuDetect employs the company's image analysis and pattern recognition technology to automatically identify and mark suspicious areas without obscuring the region of interest, Parascript said. The software is intended for OEM customers that are interested in performance improvements of their CAD and mammography systems, and as such does not have 510(k) clearance.
