Applied Visual Sciences awarded patent

Applied Visual Sciences (APVS) of Herndon, VA, has received a patent from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for an image analysis algorithm.

Titled "System and Method for Identifying a Feature of Interest in Hyperspectral Data," the patent extends APVS's existing patent protection for software in which multiple images or pictures are created and utilized for automated computer analysis and assessment.

APVS calls its image analysis process image transformation divergence, and it is designed to distinguish between targeted image objects, such as threats or disease states, and other objects that are nonthreatening or benign.
