Healthcare informatics firm Eclipsys of Boca Raton, FL, has reorganized its management structure in a move that reduces staff by 100 employees and sends packing four executive vice presidents and three senior vice presidents.
The moves will produce one-time severance costs of $7 million in the first quarter of 2006, but are expected to be revenue-neutral to the firm's 2006 earnings. Eclipsys estimates that the annual operating expense of employing the departing individuals was $10 million to $12 million.
Among the changes are the hiring of Jay Deady as vice president of customer solutions. Deady previously was vice president and general manager of revenue cycle solutions at McKesson, and previously held executive and sales management positions at ADAC Healthcare and Cerner of Kansas City. Deady reports to Andrew Eckert, who joined Eclipsys as president and CEO in October 2005.
Along with Deady, the four other members of the Eclipsys executive management team reporting to Eckert in the new organizational structure are John Adams, executive vice president of business solutions, who has had his responsibilities expanded under the restructuring; Brian Copple, general counsel; John Gomez, executive vice president, chief technology strategy officer; and Frank Stearns, senior vice president of professional services.
