Cedara Software of Mississauga, Ontario, has acquired the intellectual property assets of French medical software developer Axicare.
The assets were acquired through court liquidation and include Axicare's aXigate healthcare data and workflow management system. aXigate is designed to create a single comprehensive patient record that can connect and manage data and medical images from existing information systems, according to Cedara, a unit of Merge Healthcare of Milwaukee.
Employing an open architecture, the Web-based aXigate includes components for patient registration, tracking, scheduling, reporting, coding, prescriptions, patient follow-up, and more, Cedara said. aXigate and its clinical modules are immediately available to OEM and VAR companies, according to the firm.
