Fujifilm Medical Systems unveiled its Obliquus 3D advanced visualization software and the latest developments in its Synapse Comprehension integrated radiology information technology application at the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) conference in San Diego last week.
Obliquus, a software component of the Stamford, CT-based vendor's Synapse PACS, provides diagnostic maximum intensity projection (MIP) and multiplanar reformatting (MPR) capabilities for users, the company said. Obliquus is currently available to Fuji customers outside the U.S. that are using Synapse version 3.1.1 or higher. The component requires Food and Drug Administration 510(k) clearance and is not yet available for sale in the U.S.
The developer also showcased its Synapse Comprehension, a strategy to replace RIS and PACS applications with an integrated IT product. The company demonstrated a Web-capable extended information model that is capable of managing patient workflow, from order though results.
