Radiology IT developer NovaRad has introduced NovaRIS, a Web-based, open-standards RIS that generates reports, analyzes exams, measures profitability, and facilitates paperless management of patient records, according to the American Fork, UT-based firm.
The RIS also features voice recognition and transcription, as well as specialized worklists and interfaces for administrative assistants, technologists, radiologists, transcriptionists, and billing specialists.
In addition, NovaRIS has scheduling, automated fax and e-mail, HIPAA logging and auditing, and electronic-signature capabilities. The application provides HL7 interfaces for integration with hospital information systems (HIS) as well as PACS products, NovaRad said.
