Healthcare information systems provider Cerner of Kansas City has partnered with the state of Kansas and FirstGuard Health Plan of Kansas City to launch a community health record (CHR) in the region.
The CHR model is a patient-centered record of aggregated health data that provides a quick summary of clinical activity and is available to providers, clinics, and emergency rooms free of charge, Cerner said.
The CHR, which was introduced in March this year, includes 30,000 FirstGuard members in Sedgwick County the company said. The CHR uses Cerner's healthcare information technology and patient information from FirstGuard, and collects demographic information, claimed clinician visits, dispensed medications, and immunizations.
