GE Healthcare has launched Centricity Enterprise Remote Services.
Designed to boost adoption of integrated electronic medical records (EMRs) by midsize healthcare organizations, Enterprise Remote Services provides the capabilities of Centricity Enterprise (formerly IDX Carecast) on a remotely hosted ASP subscription basis, according to the Chalfont St. Giles, U.K.-based vendor.
The Heart Hospital Baylor Plano, a full-service heart hospital scheduled to open in January 2007 in Plano, TX, is the first organization to sign up for the new service, GE said.
In other IT developments, GE said it's now also offering its Access Management Suite and Patient Financials Suite for hospitals and integrated delivery networks (IDNs) via an ASP model. Episcopal Health Services in New York is the first customer to sign on for the new option, GE said.
