Healthcare informatics developer Allscripts reported that Bridgewater Goddard Park Medical Associates in Brockton, MA, has selected its TouchWorks electronic health record (EHR) application.
Allscripts said the group's implementation of TouchWorks is a result of its involvement in the Massachusetts e-Health Collaborative (MAeHC) -- a three-year pilot program funded by a $50 million financial commitment from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts. The program seeks to demonstrate the ability of information systems to improve the safety, cost-effectiveness, and quality of healthcare in Massachusetts, the company said.
The 70-physician practice will use the EHR to share access to patient medical records with other members of a Brockton-area demonstration group, including Brockton Hospital, Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center, Brockton Physician Hospital Organization, Caritas Good Samaritan IPA, and Brockton Neighborhood Health Center.
