Healthcare information systems developer Cerner of Kansas City, MO, reported strong revenue and earnings growth in the company's second quarter (end-July 1).
For the period, second-quarter revenues increased 19% to $330.6 million, compared with $277.8 million in the same quarter in fiscal 2005. For the most recent period, net earnings were $23.9 million, a sturdy uptick compared with net earnings of $19.8 million in the same period last year.
New business bookings in the quarter were $311.9 million, a 10% gain over the second quarter of 2005, and an all-time high for second-quarter bookings.
The firm said that it expects revenue for its fiscal 2006 third quarter to be approximately $330 million to $340 million, and new business bookings to be between $335 million and $350 million, which reflect 14% growth over the bookings reported in the third quarter of 2005.
