Philips Speech Recognition Systems will be demonstrating and displaying speech recognition systems with thin-client technology, as well as ProScribe, a mobile platform for speech-driven document creation, at this month's 2006 RSNA conference.
Philips will showcase its SpeechMagic speech recognition-based document creation platform as a thin-client solution within Citrix environments, as well as ProScribe, a mobile display based on thin-client technology, according to the Vienna, Austria-based developer.
Integrated with a RIS or an electronic medical record (EMR) system, the SpeechMagic Citrix Extension enables the centralization of IT administration within a Citrix infrastructure. No files are stored locally, significantly improving the protection of patient data, according to the company.
Based on SpeechMagic, the ProScribe thin-client device allows radiologists to access speech recognition for dictating into forms and fields at any place within a department. The portable ProScribe also provides command and control functionalities that allows users to navigate applications by voice so they can streamline information capturing, processing, and distribution at the point of care, the company said.
