Networked digital dictation developer WinScribe will debut WinScribe 3.7, scheduled for release later this month, to the 2006 RSNA conference attendees in Chicago.
WinScribe offers voice-to-document products, including digital dictation, transcription, speech recognition, and workflow management, the Auckland, New Zealand-based company said.
The software's 3.7 version delivers a host of new features, including compatibility with a wider range of voice-input devices, allowing greater choices for digital recorders, microphones, personal digital assistants (PDAs), speech microphones, telephones, and other peripherals, and preserving existing equipment investments, according to the firm.
he developer has also implemented new server- and client-side speech recognition software, allowing customers to shift speech recognition processing from the desktop or portable client to a central server, WinScribe said.
The vendor said it has also improved password protection and added new author interface options, as well as a new Web uploader that allows authors to upload dictations from a standard Internet browser.
The HL7-compliant application, which can be integrated with electronic medical record (EMR), hospital information system (HIS), RIS, and PACS software, is targeted at radiology and pathology departments for report creation, clinical notes, and distribution of reports to clinicians and referring physicians.
