Dictation and transcription technology and informatics developer Dolbey of Cincinnati will spotlight its Fusion Expert and Fusion Voyager product offerings during the 2006 RSNA conference in Chicago.
Fusion Expert is a module of the company's Fusion Text software, which enables physicians to use PCs to dictate and sign a report with or without the use of speech recognition. Fusion Expert integrates with most healthcare information systems (HIS) and PACS products, providing users with the capability to download demographics and generate reports through the use of templates, routines, and straight dictation. Reports can be completed and uploaded to HIS and RIS applications as soon as the physician completes them, or they can be sent to transcription for final editing.
The firm's Fusion Voyager turns a handheld PDA or Windows Mobile Smartphone into an integrated dictation device enabling physicians to dictate reports from the point of care, in their office, or anywhere in between, the company said. Patient information is automatically associated with the dictation, so a physician can select a patient and begin dictating.
Dictation is stored and encrypted locally, so information will not be lost if the user moves out of the wireless environment. Dolbey said that Fusion Voyager seamlessly integrates with its Fusion Voice dictation, Fusion Text transcription software, and Fusion Speech for background speech recognition, as well as other dictation systems such as those by Joplin, MO-based DVI (a wholly owned subsidiary of MedQuist).
