Provox allies with Vivalog, launches VoxComparison

Speech recognition technology developer Provox Technologies of Roanoke, VA, has formed a partnership with image management firm Vivalog Technologies and launched a new tool in its VoxReports toolbox called VoxComparison.

VoxComparison helps users search for comparative studies on the Web (contained in Vivalog's MyPACS.net, an online cache of 55,000 key images in 13,000 reference cases) or in a hospital's own archives (contained in Vivalog's MyPACS Enterprise) at the point of dictating a study, according to Provox. If a comparative study is found, VoxReports can read and produce the report, tagging and storing the study as a reference case. The two firms hope that their partnership will allow radiologists to improve diagnoses and avoid errors.
