Information management firm SourceMedical has debuted an upgraded version of SourceRad, an integrated application service provider (ASP)-delivered RIS/PACS/billing system, at the 2006 RSNA meeting in Chicago.
SourceRad helps users streamline their imaging business by automating workflow and eliminating capital investments associated with servers, operating systems, and IT maintenance, according to the Birmingham, AL-based company. Because it's ASP-delivered, the system allows radiology facilities to pay for what they use rather than requiring a broad capital expenditure all at once.
SourceRad has been upgraded to a Microsoft.NET smart client, enabling features such as drag and drop scheduling and multiple tabs that run simultaneous workflows. The upgrades allow for autoupdating, billing workflow optimization, document scanning capabilities, and integrated PACS, according to SourceMedical.
