Intermountain Healthcare has opened a new medical informatics research center on its campus headquarters in Salt Lake City.
The Homer Warner Center for Informatics Research is named for Homer Warner, MD, PhD, one of the earliest pioneers of clinical computer systems. In addition to conducting medical informatics research, the center will provide healthcare IT support to the organization's 23 hospitals and clinics throughout Utah and southern Idaho.
The center will centralize 60 full-time healthcare IT employees and will provide space for an additional 100 informatics specialists expected to be hired over the next decade.
