Mammography information systems developer PenRad Technologies has integrated the Hughes riskApps application for expanded cancer risk assessment into its technology.
The new tool for risk assessment is designed to identify patients at high risk for hereditary breast and ovarian cancer and improve patient care management.
Hughes riskApps calculates additional risk factors by providing a patient-populated survey of family history and risk data using a wireless touch tablet or kiosk, PenRad said.
The firm has also introduced PenLink for consolidating medical records and imaging data within a single process. PenLink allows facilities to manage requests for records remotely or locally on a common workstation, facilitating a single patient visit to a location in the facility, according to PenRad.
