Speech recognition and software developer Nuance Communications and radiation dose monitoring and manufacturing software firm Radimetrics are integrating their respective technologies to help radiologists monitor and report on patient exposure to imaging-related radiation.
The integration of Nuance's PowerScribe 360 Reporting software with Radimetrics' eXposure will allow radiologists to automate the inclusion of radiation dose information as part of the patient report without relying on manual input.
Additionally, radiologists will be able to track patients' radiation exposure across scans and ensure that exams are performed in accordance with appropriate imaging protocol.
The partnership was announced this week at the Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine (SIIM) annual meeting in Orlando, FL.
