In a bid to expand its healthcare informatics portfolio, Hitachi Healthcare Americas has signed an agreement to purchase imaging informatics firm VidiStar.
VidiStar offers a cloud-based diagnostic viewer and structured reporting software for medical imaging and clinical decision support. Hitachi said it expects the acquisition will enhance its informatics strategy and analytics capabilities, particularly for providers conducting diagnostic ultrasound studies.
Terms of the agreement were not disclosed. Upon closure of the deal, VidiStar and its employees will become part of the Hitachi Healthcare Americas business group. The company will maintain its current headquarters in Greenville, SC.
