Clinical decision-support (CDS) software developer MedCurrent is partnering with electronic health record (EHR) systems and services firm Evident to improve care quality.
The companies will target the Protecting Access to Medicare Act (PAMA), which went into effect on January 1. PAMA requires entities submitting reimbursement claims to the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) for advanced diagnostic imaging to use a CMS-qualified clinical decision support mechanism (CDSM).
MedCurrent will integrate its OrderWise CDS software with Evident's EHR to help ensure reimbursement for outpatient scans, such as CT and MRI.
