Swedish PACS vendor Sectra has signed a 10-year contract with Philips Medical Systems for exclusive delivery of its PACS software for the London cluster of the National Health Service's (NHS) National Program for Information Technology.
The Linköping-based vendor said it will subcontract its software to Philips for deliveries of PACS to the London region under a separate agreement between BT, the designated local service provider for the London cluster, and Philips Medical Systems.
There are more than 40 hospitals in the London region, but it is up to each hospital to decide if and when to invest in PACS, so there are no guarantees as to the volume of business Sectra will derive from the deal, the company said.
