DALLAS - McKesson Information Solutions - Medical Imaging Group spotlighted new features for its Horizon Radiology integrated RIS/PACS suite at the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) conference on Wednesday.
The Richmond, British Columbia-based group displayed its Horizon Rad Station, which boasts a new set of McKesson-developed technologies, including adaptive image loading to optimize image display and navigation; virtual image management to support advanced, multislice and high-data-volume modalities; and clinical series mapping, which enables common display protocols for vendor-specific DICOM implementations.
Horizon Rad Station automates workflows in specialties across the healthcare enterprise, including radiology, orthopedics, nuclear medicine, and emerging PACS applications such as endoscopy and ophthalmology, McKesson said.
The RIS and PACS components use standards-based interfaces and Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE) framework to work with other systems, according to Joel Biegel, vice president of product management for McKesson's medical imaging group.
