Agfa HealthCare of Mortsel, Belgium, has landed a contract to install a PACS, RIS, and speech recognition network at Capital Health in Edmonton, Alberta.
With the deal, Capital Health will become Agfa's largest customer in North America with an integrated RIS/PACS/speech recognition system. The health system will install Agfa technology at all of its 13 hospitals in the region, with full integration of radiology and cardiology images, Agfa said. Capital Health conducts over 750,000 radiology exams a year.
Agfa said the deal is unique in that the two parties have agreed to a risk-sharing relationship in which Agfa helps guarantee the clinical, operational, financial, and technical success of the system at Capital Health.
