Image management firm Emageon reported that revenue for its 2004 fiscal fourth quarter (end-December 31) was $16.2 million, compared with $9.2 million in the fourth quarter of 2003, representing a 77% increase. For the year, the firm said that revenue was $45.8 million, an increase of 97% over the $23.3 million in revenue recorded during the prior fiscal year.
The Birmingham, AL-based company cut its losses for the fiscal year to $10.5 million, an improvement from net losses of $11.4 million from the preceding year. For the quarter, the developer reported an increase in losses to $2.2 million, compared with losses of $1.9 million in the fourth quarter of 2003. The firm said it had $118.2 million in contracted backlog at the close of the fiscal year, an increase of 43% over the $82.7 million in contracted backlog at the end of fiscal 2003.
In other news, Emageon said that it has entered into a 10-year, digital healthcare information management agreement with Sisters of St. Francis Health Services, an integrated network of 12 hospitals, clinics, and associated facilities located in Indiana and Illinois.
