Archiving services provider StorageTek of Louisville, CO, has launched a new storage appraisal service to help facilities like hospitals maintain their archiving systems.
Under the program, StorageTek conducts a review of archiving technology installed at a site and recommends ways to reduce waste, improve data management, and use staff resources more effectively. The company claims that a storage appraisal of a midsized U.S. hospital was able to help the facility increase its backup and recovery rates from 65%-70% to 99.9%.
In other StorageTek news, the company has realigned its global services business, creating five professional service and remote-service practice areas. The areas include implementation and education services, data center services, storage assessment services, business continuity and disaster recovery services, and remote managed services.
