PACS and RIS software developer Merge eFilm of Milwaukee has changed its name to Merge Healthcare following its acquisitions of Cedara Software and its subsidiary eMed Technologies.
Merge Healthcare will have two divisions, each focusing on different market segments. Merge eMed will develop, market, and service PACS and RIS products for end-users, while Cedara will focus on developing software for OEMs and international markets. Merge eFilm’s existing OEM business will now fall under the Cedara brand, according to the company.
Merge said the new corporate name and organization were designed to build on the success of the three major companies that make up the new firm. The company’s stock will continue to trade on NASDAQ under the MRGE symbol, and will trade on the Toronto Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol MRG.
