Codonics will add Ci-S and GS-s to its family of Horizon imagers.
Ci-S is a multimedia imager that prints on 8 x 10- and 11 x 14-inch blue and clear-base film, A/A4 color paper, and A/A4 and 11 x 14-inch grayscale paper, without operator intervention to switch between media. It uses direct thermographic and dye-diffusion technology, and prints at a resolution of 320 dpi, according to the Middleburg Heights, OH-based vendor.
Also making its debut is GS-s, a multimedia imager that also prints on 8 x 10- and 11 x 14-inch blue and clear-base film, as well as 11 x 14-inch and A/A4 grayscale paper without requiring operator intervention to switch media. It uses only direct thermographic technology, however. Like Ci-S, GS-s prints at a resolution of 320 dpi and prints up to 100 films per hour.
Codonics is targeting both models for facilities ranging from outpatient clinics and remote facilities, including mobile and military applications, up to large, high-volume hospitals.
Codonics will also present Horizon XL, a work-in-progress multimedia imager that prints on film in sizes of 8 x 10, 14 x 17, 14 x 36, and 14 x 51 inches, as well as on A/A4 color paper and A/A4 and 14 x 17-inch grayscale paper. No operator intervention is required to switch between the media types, according to the firm.
Codonics is pointing to the digital imager's work-in-progress capability to output 14 x 36- and 14 x 51-inch long film on one continuous image. Horizon XL prints at a resolution of 320 dpi and prints up to 100 films per hour, Codonics said.
