Kodak will show enhancements to its flagship DryView 8900 laser imager at this year's RSNA meeting.
The new version features a 25% faster time to the first print, and a 20% throughput increase, according to the Rochester, NY-based vendor. The imager can now output up to 225 8 x 10-inch films per hour and up to 195 14 x 17-inch films per hour, Kodak said.
The new version is 6 inches smaller, supports five film sizes, and produces every image at 650 dpi.
Kodak is also showing new image output software as a work-in-progress. Medical Image Central Software assembles images from digital modalities for printing, archiving, displaying, and reporting, Kodak said.
The software allows images to be "dragged and dropped" into user-designed templates. These image files can then be printed on film or paper, stored on CD/DVD and/or displayed on a monitor, Kodak said.
An image viewer is automatically written to each CD/DVD. The software also enables printing to DICOM printers from all vendors, as well as Windows-based paper printers, Kodak said.
