Merge eMed will introduce ImageCD, software designed to aid image distribution to referring physicians and patients.
ImageCD can burn images and reports on both CD and DVD media, and includes the ability to select studies to burn at the series level, according to the Milwaukee-based firm. CD/DVDs can be created from any network client, and the disks include an image viewer. ImageCD also includes support for DICOM Part 10 images, as well as automated CD/DVD labeling.
The company will also be displaying version 2.1 of its eFilm Workstation software. The new release includes window/level presets, synchronized stacking, multiplanar reformatting (MPR), reference lines, cine function, and integrated CD burning, according to Merge.
Merge has also incorporated advanced visualization capabilities such as 3D volume rendering, facilitated spine labeling, PET/CT image fusion, image stitching, and 3D/4D reconstruction. Other additions include a thumbnail viewer and the ability to cross-reference, measure, rotate, pan, zoom, and annotate, according to the firm. Merge has also added new tools for splitting a series, viewing radiation therapy images, and improving workstation user security.
Also on tap for Merge: Enterprise Web, a package designed to provide hospital departments, on-call radiologists, and referring physician practices with access to images and results. Enterprise Web can be configured to use both a local area network (LAN) and the Internet, and offers viewing capabilities such as extended layouts, image calibration tools, new region-of-interest measurements, and viewing preference options, Merge said.
First-impression templates allow users to define standard templates for first-impression reports, Merge said. Enterprise Web supports various compression algorithms, including JPEG2000, and also offers role-based access.
For enhanced communication between radiologists, Enterprise Web allows for synching of key images and study notes between Merge's Matrix PACS network and Enterprise Web. The software also includes an administrative tools package.
