PACS developer CoActiv Medical Business Solutions is previewing the next generation of its Exam-PACS at RSNA 2005 in Chicago this week.
The upgraded Exam-PACS includes a new back-end SQL database for enhanced performance and less expensive integration with RIS, HIS, and other medical imaging-related applications, according to CoActive. Enhanced scrolling speed also is designed to handle larger exam series generated by new 32- and 64-slice CT scanners. A DICOM Modality Worklist also has been included for RIS/PACS integrations.
This version of Exam-PACS will be free of charge to existing clients, when the Ridgefield, CT-based company makes it available in the first quarter of 2006.
CoActiv is also highlighting its Enhanced Dual-Level Redundant Monitoring Service for Exam-PACS. The service provides uptime protection by running a check every several minutes to analyze system performance and safety factors, and reporting them to an automated Web-based monitoring station. The built-in check capability is also remotely monitored, according to the company.
